Teaching Strategies GOLD®

Teaching Strategies GOLD® is an authentic, observation-based assessment system that helps teachers understand each child's unique strengths, interests, and developmental progress. Rather than relying on traditional tests, teachers observe children as they learn through play, daily routines, and classroom activities.

Throughout the school year, teachers collect notes, photos, and examples of children's work to monitor growth in areas such as social-emotional development, language and literacy, mathematics, cognitive skills, physical development, and approaches to learning. This information helps teachers personalize instruction, celebrate each child's accomplishments, and provide the support needed for every child to succeed.

Teaching Strategies GOLD® also strengthens the partnership between home and school by providing meaningful information about your child's progress and developmental milestones. Together, families and teachers can support each child's learning journey and kindergarten readiness.
